Welcome to raindrop mousery.

Raindrop mousery is a small mousery based in Hertfordshire.

Raindrop mousery is home to over 100 mice.

All my mice are breed for showing or as pets.

Also i do not cull any of my mice. So allways have mice looking for homes.

I have been breeding and showing mice for almost a year now. I currently breed and show tans, satins, silver greys, self blues and sheep/fuzzie.

I have recently got my first silver fox, i am hoping to breed her and soon be showing silver foxes.

Also i some times breed broken marked and selfs as pet mice.

In the future i am hoping to possibly get some chinchilla mice.

Sheep/fuzzie mice are currently an unstanderdised breed, but by showing and breeding them i am hoping one day they will be a standeredised breed.

Mice make fantastic pets they are great to watch, they love to interact with humans and are fantastic to handle.

Mice are very active and really enjoyable to watch they love running around in a wheel and are allways active, they make a great family pet. They are a really good first time pet as they are easy to look after, cheap to keep and are really easy to handle.

Hamsters can make great pets too. I tend to find russian/dwalf hamsters hard to handle but syrian hamsters i find are better sometime you do get ones that do not like being handled and bite but most are very handelable with some work. I find that most mice and rats tend to enjoy human company more than hamsters. Most hamsters love being hand fed and coming out for a run arround, they dont seem to fond of being cuddled but will happly come on your lap and be held.

Rats make fantastic pets too they are very friendly love to come out and play and love human company. Rats need alot bigger cages than mice or hamsters so take up more room but are very rewarding to have if you keep one rat on its own you will need to spend alot more time with it, if you keep rats in pairs or groups they will have eachother for company.

Rats are very social aniamls so i would not advise getting one on it own if you are out all day. If you have one on its own that is lonley it may be worth getting another single or pair to go in a cage next to you original one, although they cannot actually be together they can still see wach other through the bars which is good stimulation. Rats should allways have lots of things to do as they are very intelegent and need lots of stimulation.
